The New England Patriots are just days away from their first regular season game of the 2024 season, and their first under new head coach Jerod Mayo.
Unfortunately, due to injuries and a lack of consistency on the offensive line, New England isn’t quite sure who will be the five playing on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Left guard Cole Strange is on reserve/PUP after his season-ending injury last year. Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe has been limited in practice with an oblique injury while left guard Sidy Sow has been absent with an ankle.
During his Friday media availability, Mayo wouldn’t rule Sow out for Sunday’s matchup, but he did hint that the Patriots could rotate offensive linemen throughout the game, which is an interesting plan.
Typically, teams don’t like to move guys in and out of the offensive line to create some level of consistency and keep communication tight.
If New England is bringing guys in and out, it could lead to some big problems and allow guys like Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson to take over and wreak havoc.
