Gіlbert Arenаs Sаys 1 Plаyer Could Stаrt Over Steрhen Curry On Teаm USA

eam USA features some of the best young talents from the NBA, but one could argue that this squad is still far from the best they could’ve fielded for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

This squad is the beginning of a transition from the older days to the new era, and the young players deserve an opportunity to prove themselves at the highest level.

Nonetheless, former All-Star Gilbert Arenas has been quite critical of this group.

With that in mind, he started putting together a squad that should be able to dominate and fare better than the one they have right now, and he had quite a controversial opinion.

Per Arenas, he says Team USA could start Ja Morant over Stephen Curry, not because Curry isn’t a better player or a superstar, but because Nike runs the team, and they would look to promote their own athletes.

Curry is Under Armor’s No. 1 signature player, whereas Morant is a rising star with Nike and one of the new faces of the league.

Truth be told, Team USA could field ten different teams and still dominate the rest of the world, barring maybe just a couple of teams, so putting together the perfect starting lineup could be a tricky task.

But regardless of which brand is promoting which player, and with no disrespect to Ja Morant whatsoever, there’s simply no way he should be ahead of Stephen Curry, at least not at this point in their careers.
