The Kansas City Chiefs’ Divisional Round victory over the Houston Texans has been mired with controversy. Fans and pundits alike have alleged that the referees helped the Chiefs win the game by making supposedly dubious calls in their favor.
Ultimately, Kansas City booked their spot in the AFC Championship Game after taking down the Texans, 23-14.
One of these disgruntled fans is hip-hop icon Lil Wayne, who made his feelings about the Chiefs abundantly clear. The multi-Grammy Award-winning rapper was tuned in for Sunday’s clash, and he could not help but call out the Chiefs for “cheating” their way to victory.
“I hate the cheating azz chiefs,” Wayne posted on X

The “Mrs. Officer” hitmaker wasn’t done. A few minutes later, he came out with another shot at the two-time defending champions.
“It’s not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby,” he wrote.

On Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Chiefs star Travis Kelce had the chance to address the allegations that have been thrown in his team’s direction. When his brother Jason Kelce read Wayne’s tweet, Travis Kelce refused to engage.
The All-Pro tight end laughed off the allegation before sending a four-word message to the hip-hop legend.
“Shout-out to Tunechi, man,” Kelce said.

When asked to comment on the controversy surrounding their win, particularly on the two polarizing roughing the passer calls on Patrick Mahomes, Kelce opted to “plead the fifth (amendment)” and not comment at all.
Whatever the case might be, it’s the Chiefs who are heading to the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and are now just two wins away from an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat.
