Stefon Diggs is aiming to prove he can still be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL even after suffering a torn ACL, and he seems like he is excited for the new chapter in his career.
Diggs on Tuesday signed a 3-year, $69 million deal with the New England Patriots. The 31-year-old will be tasked with helping to improve an offense that has been one of the least productive in the NFL for several seasons now.
Shortly after the news broke that he has joined a new team, Diggs shared a photo on his Instagram story that showed Patrick from “SpongeBob Squarepants” looking very excited.

Diggs played for the Buffalo Bills for four years, so he is plenty familiar with the Patriots. He made the Pro Bowl in each of those seasons before being traded to the Houston Texans last year.
Diggs had 47 catches for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns in 8 games last season. He suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury on Oct. 27. He is said to be ahead of schedule in his rehab and expected to be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 season.
The Patriots are hoping that Diggs will be the true No. 1 wide receiver they have been lacking. Drake Maye showed serious potential as a rookie last season, and having an experienced veteran like Diggs to throw to should help the quarterback’s development.
It’s worth mentioning that Diggs seemed frustrated at teams in Buffalo despite playing in a high-powered offense. You have to wonder how he will react when things don’t go well in New England, but he at least seems optimistic about the opportunity.
