The Denver Nuggets are in the midst of one of their worst stretches of the NBA season, losing three of their previous four games.
The Nuggets have been shorthanded over the last few contests. Guard Jamal Murray missed two games with a right ankle sprain, returning for the Nuggets’ 128-109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Jokic has also been absent the last three games as he continues his recovery from a left ankle impingement.
On Sunday, Denver will look to get back on track as it faces the Houston Rockets. Although the Nuggets’ injury report is relatively clean, Mile High Sports’ Ryan Blackburn has reported that Jokic will remain out against Houston, marking a fourth consecutive game missed.
“Jokic out tomorrow. Not really surprised. The Nuggets are playing it cautiously now that they know they have zero margin for error.”

Although Jokic will be watching from the bench, the Nuggets should have a majority of their key pieces available. Murray, Aaron Gordon (right calf injury), and Christian Braun (left foot strain) have all been ruled as probable against the Rockets.
The Rockets do not have a heavy injury report either, with the only player listed being rookie Reed Sheppard, who will also be out.
Despite recent struggles, the Nuggets still sit with a 44-27 record with 11 regular games remaining, good for 4th place in the Western Conference.
Following the Rockets game, Denver will head back home for a five-game homestand, starting with the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
