BREAKING: Nikola Jokic Makes Big Man History on Tuesday Night

The Denver Nuggets were undermanned on Tuesday night as they took on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a home game at Ball Arena.

Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. were both unable to suit up in this one with respective injuries/issues, and this only meant that much of the heavy lifting would fall on the very able shoulders of Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

The three-time NBA MVP gladly obliged. Jokic went off in the first half for 23 points and six rebounds in just 19 minutes played. The 6-foot-11 big man also knocked down three triples en route to making NBA history yet again.

According to StatMamba, Jokic is just the fifth center in league history to knock down 800 career treys.

This is an undeniably noteworthy accomplishment for Jokic, who isn’t exactly known for being the deadliest marksmen from beyond the arc.

This season, though, the Serbian is averaging a career-best 1.9 triples per game on a highly efficient 41.2% clip. That’s nearly double his career average of 1.1 threes per contest, which speaks volumes of how much Jokic has elevated his long-range game this year.

Jokic and the Nuggets entered Tuesday’s matchup against the Wolves with a 47-28 record and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. As of writing, they are just 1.5 games behind the Houston Rockets for the No. 2 spot and with six games left to play after Tuesday.
