BREAKING: Mike Vrabel Makes Revelation About Possible Patriots Target Travis Hunter

Top NFL draft prospect Travis Hunter drew a massive crowd when he made it to his podium for his media session at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Thursday.

But good luck trying to figure out if he already met with any teams.

Hunter was tight-lipped on the matter, responding, “Next question,” whenever asked if he met with a specific team.

However, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel let it slip that Hunter did in fact meet with at least one team. And that would be the Patriots as Vrabel said on the NFL Network Combine broadcast that they met with Hunter on Wednesday night, per 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Alex Barth.

It comes as no surprise that the Patriots, who hold the No. 4 overall pick in April’s draft, want to do their due diligence on Hunter. He very well could be in a Patriots uniform next season if he doesn’t go within the first three selections.

Hunter dazzled as a two-way standout in his final season with Colorado playing both wide receiver and cornerback. He recorded 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns while also notching four interceptions and 35 tackles on defense en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.

It’s unclear exactly what side of the ball the Patriots would put Hunter on if they drafted him. They probably are still figuring that out, but executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf said that Hunter will probably “major” in one position and “minor” in another, according to Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports.

But Hunter has full confidence he can be a full-time player on both offense and defense.

“I’d like to play both sides of the ball,” Hunter told reporters, per The Athletic’s RJ Kraft. “If they give me the opportunity to play both sides of the ball, I’m going to play both sides.”
