BREAKING: Russell Westbrook Posts 1-Word Reaction to Jamal Murray’s Historic 55-Point Night

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, 132-121. As such, the Nuggets enter the NBA All-Star break with a 36-19 record and eight straight wins.

The Nuggets led by 40-27 at the end of the first quarter and 75-59 at halftime.

The star of the show for Denver was star guard Jamal Murray, who scored a career-high 55 points on 20-of-36 from the field with seven three-pointers in the victory.

Murray also became the first player in Nuggets history to record 55+ points, 5+ assists, and 5+ three-pointers in a single game.

After the game, Murray’s teammate, Russell Westbrook, responded to the historic performance on X with a simple statement.

“55 !!!” Westbrook wrote in a quoted post of Murray’s interview.

Westbrook has not played since January 31 due to a hamstring injury, but he has been supporting his team despite his absence.

Before Wednesday, Murray’s career high was 50 points, which came in Feb. 2021 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic registered a 26-point, 15-rebound, 10-assists triple-double in the win and Christian Braun added 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, so it was a strong team effort on Wednesday.

Nonetheless, Murray’s performance is going into the Nuggets record books for now and is an impressive accolade for the former Kentucky Wildcats star.

The Nuggets now go into the All-Star Break with the third-best record in the Western Conference, just one loss behind the Memphis Grizzlies.
