Pаtrіots elevаte lіnebаcker from рrаctice ѕquаd for mаtсhup vѕ. Jаguаrѕ

The New England Patriots, after losing their last five games, will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

On top of the normal 53 guys that the Patriots have on their active roster every week, New England will have one extra player to choose from for this Week 7 battle, as they’ve elevated linebacker Ochaun Mathis from their practice squad.

Mathis, 25, was a sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2023 out of Nebraska. He appeared in eight games as a rookie, recording two tackles before Los Angeles released him during roster cuts.

The 6-foot-5 linebacker was elevated for New England’s Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and played on special teams.

With all of the injuries and struggles they’ve had on defense, some of New England’s key defenders have been called upon for bigger roles, and Mathis can help out on Sunday.
