Nuggets Reveal Unfortunate Russell Westbrook News

The Denver Nuggets face the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, entering the matchup having won back-to-back games.

Denver stands at 30-19 on the season, ranked as the No. 4 team in the Western Conference standings.

Before the matchup against the Pelicans, where Denver is set to tip off at 9 p.m. ET, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone spoke on the injury status of All-Star guard Russell Westbrook.

Malone mentioned that there was no timetable for his return, as he is currently nursing a left hamstring strain, per Harrison Wind.

The last time Westbrook saw game action was Jan. 31 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Westbrook is currently playing in his first season with the Nuggets. He’s started 27-of-48 games that he’s been active in Denver.

The future Hall of Famer has averaged 13.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.

Given the Nuggets’ recent success and the extent of the injury, the Nuggets seem to be taking extra precautions. Amid the chaos in the NBA’s trade deadline, Denver has been quiet in terms of acquisition discussions.

Denver courts the same core that led the franchise to an NBA title in 2023, led by Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
