BREAKING: The Cowboys are willing to spend big on Cooper Kupp, and Jerry Jones isn’t hesitating to pull the trigger.

Continuing what’s been a mostly-mediocre week of NFL free agency for the Dallas Cowboys, the team brought in a new running back on Thursday evening.

Agreeing to terms with Miles Sanders, who was recently released by the Carolina Panthers, the Cowboys added to their back field. Funny enough, Sanders now switches places with former Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle, who just signed with Carolina.

Still, this wasn’t exactly a notable signing.

But, the morning after the Sanders news, the Cowboys appear to be giving fans exactly what’s been lacking: big free agency news.

The Cowboys are reportedly working on a deal with wide receiver Cooper Kupp

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys appear to be working on signing Cooper Kupp, who was recently let go by the LA Rams.

“And so overnight, the Cowboys stuck a deal with former Eagles and Panthers RB Miles Sanders, and are working on one with former Rams WR Cooper Kupp,” Schefter wrote.

This is, indeed, huge news for the Cowboys after one of the latest reports might have meant Dallas was out on signing Kupp.

Since Kupp’s release, there have been countless rumors and whispers about where he might end up. The Cowboys have seen themselves tossed in several, but for a signing like this to actually happen?

Let’s just say, fans wouldn’t have believed it could end up a reality based on the team’s recent track record in free agency.

Jerry Jones’ infamous “all in” mantra has become quite the negative look since he’s hardly done anything to back it up. But, getting a player like Kupp might help change that perception. It’s a start, for sure.

Quite frankly, it’s going to help ease the pain of this team continuing to stick with mediocre, mid-level roster moves. It’s not like Sanders is coming in to be an All Pro in the back field. This team still has a running back problem. Make no mistake about that.
